Work in Progress

I know I haven't been posting any paintings in while, but I am still working on a new series of such. This is just a doodle of one of the things I am working on. It will be made of 3 canvases, but of the smaller state.

Design a Board Contest: North End Skate Shop

In Dec. '09, North End Skate Shop posted a contest to design a board. Immediately I thought of ideas and thought of what to enter. I hopped on illustrator and got to work. Never being trained to the program, I took a crash course and a "learn-as-you-go" approach to everything. For the most part, what I imagined, and what came out was pretty much on point. Looking back on it, I may have gone with a different approach, but I'm still happy that I entered and tackled the challenge.

The inspiration, of course, was the Seattle skyline. I took the 3 tallest buildings, one building that always stuck out to me, and the Space Needle and bunched them together for a design. The top of the buildings are to resemble the letters from Pike Place Market. In addition I took a street sign and did a play on its words. Kind of a double concept put into one.

Unfortunately, it didn't win.

Definitely learned from the experience, just like the Lakai contest.

To update about my other stuff. I've been working on a series of pieces that I hope to go around and get a show together. Of course, I'll post if any events or any bookings occur.

Bellingham's Last Supper Mural

An old cell phone photo I forgot I had. A mural in downtown bellingham of The Last Supper. The Chinese restaurant across the street is really good too.
